Club evenings

With a few exceptions the club meets each Tuesday evening from 7pm to 10pm during school term time. Doors open at 7pm, dancing starts around 7:15pm. Arrive when you can.
Usually dancing is to recorded music but on special nights live music is arranged. Club callers are there to help everyone through the movements and to enjoy the dancing.
Why not come along and give it a try? It only costs £1.50 a night for members and £2 for non-members! (Annual membership fee is £5).
Beginners and experienced dancers alike are welcome. No need to bring a partner either, but the more the merrier!
Beginners should note that first hour (7-8pm) is when the dances are selected especially for them (if present) and more challenging dances are included later in the evening. Callers are always mindful of the experience level of the dancers and other dancers are always keen to help in a friendly way, so don't worry if you've never boxed the gnat or flutterwheeled - it will all become clear!
We teach dancing by doing it. Hints and tips on technique are introduced as required. Many people have commented on how friendly and welcoming the club is.
At the request of some members we have launched our Dance Curriculum where we have selected 10 dances which our callers will repeat through the year to help members get to know them better and improve their dance technique. See our Dance Curriculum page for more details.
Soft drinks are available during the evening, with a break for tea/coffee/squash at around 8:30pm.
